MY SUMMER WORKOUT ROUTINE
So y’all know how important exercise and living a healthy lifestyle overall is to me, so I wanted to share what I am doing for my workout routine this summer.
I have been really trying to stay on the ball with working out, but I am not going to lie, with the kids being out of school it has been much harder. It seems like my whole world and daily routine have been flipped upside down, and I am just now getting back into the swing of things and they’ve been out for two weeks already lol!
With that said, I want to first tell you that I totally understand that life gets in the way of our exercise routine and fitness goals, believe me. But when it comes to getting the results you want and getting your daily exercise in, consistency is key! And if you need the support or motivation to get back to it, just know that I am cheering you on from the sidelines!
It is so super important that we stay on top of our routine, and that if and when we fall off the wagon (it’s bound to happen), we give ourselves some grace and some time and pick right back up where we left off. You with me?
So after taking a break for more days than I would like to admit, I am back on the workout wagon and here to share what I will be doing all summer long to stay in shape and work on my #summerbod.
I have mentioned a few times before on Instagram that I am really really trying to get better at running, so I have found a fun way to sneak in some running time! This is going to be an awesome trick for you busy moms who want to get your fitness on…
I have been taking the kiddos to the park in our neighborhood and while they are playing, I have been running laps around the park for 20-30 minutes at a time (because let’s face it, I wouldn’t last much longer). And it has been a win-win all around. The kids are happy they get to play and I am happy because I am squeezing some exercise AND personal development because I have my podcasts or audiobooks playing on my phone. Everyone is happy!
In addition to running 2-3 times a week I try to make it to at least 3 Barre3 classes each week.
As you already know I am a HUGE lover and advocate of Barre3. I’ve shared my one month results and why I love it so much on the blog already, but I want to reiterate for ya because it is the BEST workout I have ever done.
Let me just start by saying that I have tried basically every group class out there from yoga and pilates to body pump and spin, and none of them compare to the results I have seen from Barre3.
Barre3 is cardio, weights, stretching, and ALL of the things combined into one class. You do enough work during this one hour class to keep you burning calories even hours after you leave.
I don’t know about you, but I like to work smarter, not harder. So when I have the chance to combine an entire full body workout into one class, I take it! I really feel like a one hour Barre3 class is the equivalent of 3+ hours at the gym.
Plus group classes like Barre3 keep you accountable and motivated. Have you ever went to the gym by yourself and just bounced around from machine to machine because you don’t really know what to do or don’t have the motivation to follow what you’re supposed to do? Yea, me too. That’s exactly why I choose classes over working out by myself.
Also, how cute is this camo workout set from DYI? I seriously love all of their sets! They have the cutest patterns and such amazing quality for the material. Just had to share that little piece of info in case you are in the market for some cute workout gear.
Until next post loves!
