I am only three days in to my Barre3 January challenge and am basically obsessed already.
If you watch my Instagram stories, then you know how devastated I was when my pilates instructor wasn’t going to be teaching that class at my gym anymore. I feel like this was a divine intervention because I had been desperately needing to find somewhere that offered classes that pushed me to my limits more than once a week if I wanted to reach my fitness goals this year.
So I decided to reach out to a barre studio in my area, and the very next day saw an Instagram ad for their January challenge, and then almost immediately after I saw the ad, I heard back from the owner of the studio with more details about it. It was totally meant to be.
Needless to say, I was so excited and immediately signed up.
The January challenge runs until February 3rd and offers two separate options:
1) You can do unlimited classes online
2) You can do unlimited classes at the studio
Side note: Barre3 is a national chain so I am sure that you will find a studio near you if you choose the studio option, but if you are one of my local Austin friends you should join me at the Circle C location!
The challenge membership includes, not only unlimited access to Barre3 studio/online classes, but also a month long membership to Headspace, which is an amazing mindfulness app. Barre3 has also created an exclusive mindfulness plan, which will be sent directly to you after signing up for the in-studio option.
The entire concept behind this challenge is that “You are already enough” and to “empower from within” which is absolutely brilliant in my opinion. There is a deep connection between our mind, body, and soul, and when we are actively engaging and growing in all three areas simultaneously we are creating an overall synchronicity in our life. We are developing a life flow and operating at optimal levels on all aspects.
To me it seems silly to compartmentalize the mind and body as two separate things. When we are leveraging the power of both the mind and the body at the same time, we are able to reach our full potential, whether that be physical fitness, mindfulness/mental clarity, or both.
I have so enjoyed utilizing the meditation tools in the Headspace app. And of course am loving the benefits I have seen in my body and muscle tone from just two of the classes I have done.
For this specific challenge they recommend doing at least 3 barre classes each week to see the best results. Well since you all know that I am all about results and progress, my goals for this challenge are to be able to do two classes in a row 3 days a week. That’s right I want to double the three class minimum requirement. I may talk to the teacher’s to see if they recommend doing the classes back to back or spreading them out a bit more over the day, but either way I have some serious #abgoals and #bodygoals in 2019, so I am going to make it happen. Wish me luck!
And I truly hope that all of you babes join me on this journey to mindfulness and fitness so that we can cheer each other on along the way! Can’t wait to share my after results with you!
