A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ASHLEE JAINE

I feel like I have been getting a lot of questions lately about what my day looks like, so as usual I figured I would put it into a blog post for y’all to see. And who knows maybe I will inspire some of you potential boss babes to #bossup and follow your own business dreams.

Before I share my schedule with you, I think it’s important to mention that I was an amazing employee. I have incredible work ethic and I am really great with people, so overall my employers typically loved me. BUT I did NOT love being an employee. From a very young age I didn’t like people telling me what to do or when to do it. I have always worked better doing things on my own terms and time, and I think a lot of you can relate to that, but feel forced into this 9-5 business model or employee mindset.

ASHLEE JAINE A DAY IN THE LIFE

If that sounds like you, let me just say that you have everything it takes to create a successful business and be your own boss if you are dedicated to making it work. That is all it takes, dedication.

So I won’t go into the story about what inspired me to become my own boss (you can find that on my Instagram post here), but I will tell you that when I did, I did it with the intention of being able to build a business around my life, not build my life around my job.

I love being a mother more than anything in this world and when I had my children, I knew that I had found my purpose in life. I never wanted them to see anyone’s face more than they saw mine or miss out on those important milestones. And as time went on and I was able to build a successful business, I found an even deeper meaning behind my purpose, and that was to show other mom’s who always wanted to put their children first that they don’t have to choose between motherhood and career, they can have both and be present for their children.

So let’s fast forward to today, both of my children are in school (currently 1st and 3rd grade), my husband is retired (thanks to my business) and I have the time freedom to choose how I spend my days. Let me tell you, it…is…AWESOME! I also love the excitement of each day being different from the last so I don’t get bored or burnt out doing the same thing over and over again on repeat.

6:00 am - I wake up to get ready and take the kiddos to school. I usually lay in bed for a few minutes and try to catch up on Instagram a bit.

6:30 am - Once I am out of bed, I start getting ready (wash my face, put on makeup, do my hair, etc). While getting ready I always listen to a personal development book (here are some of my faves).

7:00 am After I am ready I wake the kiddos up, make our morning smoothies, and then head out the door to take them to school.

8:00 am - I almost always go to the gym right after I drop the kids off, unless it is a Friday (which is date day for Nick and I) and we have an early reservation or something. I just signed up at Barre3 and it’s such an amazing workout.

9:30-10:00 am - I head home to start my work day. I will go into more detail about this in a minute. If it is close enough to 10:30 (when Panda Express opens) I will go get my beloved Mango Passion tea from there.

10:30 am - Work day officially starts. This usually consists of mentor calls or Facebook Live trainings for my boss babes, Facebook Lives for natural health tips in our community group, Instagram Lives, recording videos for IGTV, writing blog posts, doing photoshoots, responding to DM’s and connecting with people on Instagram.

12:00 pm - I take a break for lunch, usually at home, but y’all know I love Chipotle, so occasionally I will talk Nick into taking me there (the closest one is 20 minutes away lol).

1:00 - 2:30 pm - I will wrap up any loose ends for work, and go pick up the kids from school around 2:30. I like to catch up on emails, DM’s, and Instagram while I am waiting in the car pick up line.

3:00 pm - Take the kids home, talk about their day, feed them a snack, cuddle, and all the other mom things.

5:00 pm - Start to make dinner and get the kids ready for football/cheer if it’s summer/fall.

5:30 pm - Eat dinner together as a family (something very important to me), share our favorite part about the day and what we are grateful for.

6:30 - 8:00 pm - Clean up dinner, do dishes, laundry, and get the house in order.

8:00 pm - Catch up on Instagram, responding to comments and DM’s, and post on Instagram.

8:30 pm - Put the kids to bed, get my calendar to prioritize and plan the next day, maybe catch up on more work or emails, and occasionally watch a show.

9:00 - 9:30 pm - Meditate and tuck myself into bed for a good night’s rest.

To say having time freedom and schedule flexibility has been a blessing is putting it lightly. It is so incredible to be able to do weekly date days with my husband, be present for every class party or school event, and take personal days when I need them without it being at the mercy of someone else’s decision.

I am a firm believer that there is an entrepreneur in each of us, and we need to channel and tap into it. It’s time to create the life you love and live life freely.

Thanks for tuning in babe! Until next time! XO
