I did a blog post about how to get out of a funk a few weeks ago, and it has sort of lead and inspired me to do this post about getting unstuck, specifically when it comes to work.

We all get the sense of overwhelm or have been paralyzed by perfectionism, so this post is for all of you who need help getting over those hurdles.

First, let’s just get clear on what being “stuck” means. It is the act of not doing anything to move forward, not having a sense of direction, and not taking the actions to keep going. So essentially just like being stuck in a place, you are stuck in life or in business.

It is always harder to get momentum back after it has been stopped, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. With a little bit of self realization, passion, and A LOT of persistence you can get the ball rolling again and make some pretty amazing things happen.

  1. Of course the very first step to getting unstuck is acknowledging that you are stuck. Then it is time to do some damage control and de-clutter and get re-organized. This is going to help give you a sense of direction and also provide you with the information you need to come up with a list of things that need to get done.

  2. The next critical step is getting inspired. Start listening to podcasts, watching inspiration YouTube videos, or reading inspirational books that give you clarity and make you want to take action!

  3. When that inspiration sets in it is time to take your to-do list, pair it with your newfound enthusiasm and get an action plan in place. What are the most important things to get done first? What actions will help you pick up momentum the quickest? What actions will make the most impact? Write it all down and gear up for what is next!

  4. Lastly of course is getting your booty to work! Start checking off those bullets on your action plan. The more you do, the better you feel and the more momentum you build.
